Crying Grandfather Calls His Grandchild, Invites Her For A Sleepover

Loneliness can affect the health and well-being of anyone, and it is a particularly severe problem for the elderly. Whether the person is alone because of the death of a spouse or some other reason, living alone with no one to talk to or interact with is very difficult.

Granddaughter Megan Elizabeth adored her grandparents, spending hours and hours with them, making loving memories. Her grandma passed away a few years ago, leaving her 92-year-old grandpa alone and down in the dumps.

Megan showed her friends the touching texts sent by her grandpa. Under the image, she explained that her grandpa was in poor health, and she tried to see him as much as possible. When he invited her over, Megan jumped in her car and stopped to get food for the sleepover.

Grandpa was very specific about his snack foods, and Megan couldn’t wait to see the look on his face when she arrived with all the goodies. She was so happy to have a chance to cheer grandpa up and spend time with him.

Megan walked in with the goodies, and her grandpa was thrilled. He turned on an old black-and-white murder mystery for them to watch together and dug in to the treats she had brought. Megan’s pictures show grandpa really enjoying himself.

Just as grandpa had requested in his texts to Megan, she’d purchased his favorite, strawberry ice cream. She prepared a large ice cream cone for him, and then sat back and watched him enjoy it. It gave her so much pleasure to see him happy.

When it was time to go to sleep, Megan was almost in tears because grandpa had set up the bedroom the way it had looked when she was little. He had looked forward to this night so much that he had put tremendous effort into the preparation.

Grandpa had added little caring touches to the room. For example, there was a glass of water near the bed, her grandma’s favorite doll, and a flashlight in case she got scared at night.

Megan woke up early in the morning so that she could get to work. She got up and dressed, trying not to wake grandpa. He needed his sleep, so she decided to call him later in the day to thank him.

In order to answer some of her friends’ questions, Megan decided to share her family’s story on Instagram. She had grown up across the street from her grandparents and felt very fortunate to have had a close relationship with them.

Megan’s grandma passed away a few years ago from Alzheimer’s Disease. Grandma and grandpa had met by a quirk of fate when grandma’s friend was too nervous about going on a blind date alone, so she invited grandma, and the date invited grandpa. It was instant attraction.

Megan’s grandma loved Christmas, so the family decided to plant a pine tree in her honor when she became ill. They decorated it every year. Sometimes Megan would leave a note for her grandma, hoping she would find it eventually and enjoy it in her own way.

On Megan’s social media platforms, she emphasizes that acts of kindness and remembrance make life more meaningful. She is not shy about expressing her love for family and the need to spread that love.
